With Halloween around the corner, step outside your everyday identity and create an alter ego by exploring colour, shape, symbols and exaggeration. Inspired by the ideas of persona and shadow, we’ll explore the different versions of ourselves and play with who we are and who we could be. Using a mix of exciting materials, you’ll bring your alter ego to life as a dramatic wearable mask.
Capacity is limited, so please confirm your participation early.
Polina Belenchuk is a London-based mixed-media artist and creative educator. Her bold, playful work explores identity and self-expression through colour, shape and character, with influences from artists including Picasso and Matisse. Her workshops encourage experimentation and play, helping participants step away from perfection and build their creative confidence.
She treats art as a tool for confidence and self-expression, building her workshops around individuality over technical perfection.
To capture the magic of your mask making creativity, we'll set up a fun and playful photo session with photographer Shack McDonald around the vibrating shapes, forms and colours of your creative alter ego.
Â
We suggest to give your alter ego some thought before you arrive. Are they loud and glittery, or soft and a bit mysterious? Decide which colours suit them and bring a few ideas along!
Â
You could coordinate your outfit with your mask and embrace colours of your alter ego for an even better outcome.
